Citizenship on application
This application form is for you if you are applying for Finnish citizenship.
You may apply for Finnish citizenship using this form also for underage children in your custody. Co-applicants may only be granted citizenship in connection with their guardian’s application. In case you include co-applicants in you application, you must attach a signed consent of the other guardian. If the co-applicant is 12 to 14 years old, you must attach a signed attestation of hearing the child. If the co-applicant is 15 to 17 years old, you must attach a signed attestation of the child's consent.

Check that you have all the necessary attachments and information in electronic format before you begin. You must have at least:
- A valid identification document
- Clarification of your language skills
- Clarification of means of support
Complete the application and select your service point
Complete the application form and append the required attachments. You must confirm your identity at Migri service point within three months of submitting your application. Please take into account that there may be a backlog at the service points. An appointment can be booked before submitting the application using the Migri appointment system.
Pay and submit your application
The processing of an application is subject to a fee. The application must be paid for via the e-service. You can pay the processing fee with most credit cards, or use the online banking services provided by Finnish banks.
Visit the selected authority to identify yourself
Visit the Finnish Immigration Service to confirm your identity and present the original versions of any attachments required for the application. Any co-applicants must also be present.
Follow the processing of your application
You can follow the progress of your application through our e-service. If further clarifications are required for your application, these will be requested through the service. You will receive a notification when a decision has been made and can be read online.
